I’m posting this in the interest of accountability, because if I get lazy and don’t finish, I’m hoping everyone will shame me for it so that I learn not to be lazy in the future…

Oh my jegus christ the amount of people that come into Jo Ann with color swatches from Dave’s Bridal and demand that we produce fifty yards of satin (most bolts come with 8 yards on them at most, some might have 10) in the exact shade of ‘tidepool blue’ as their swatch, and they can’t order it online or from our warehouse because they need it this weekend.
I WISH I WAS EXAGGERATING. SO BADLY.
There are also customers that ask if I, personally, can hem their pants or mend tears in their clothes what the heeeeeeeeeeeeeck
I use http://animecons.com/. It’s not 100% comprehensive, but it gets all the major ones, and they just added a feature where if you know about a con that isn’t on there you can add it yourself. The major advantage is that you can search by states. Cosplay.com also has a convention planner: http://www.cosplay.com/calendar/. It’s much more comprehensive, but you can’t search by area, it’s just listed by date. As for art shows, I’m really not sure, you’d have to dig around.
